Short answer

There are three ways to send calls to your AI receptionist. Forward your cell phone with a short dial code, use a RiverX business number that answers on your schedule, or move your existing number into RiverX. If you want the agent to answer only after hours or on weekends, use a RiverX business number.

Cell phone codes

Office and internet phone systems

RingCentral, Grasshopper, Google Voice, Comcast Business, Spectrum Business, and most others have a call forwarding or answering rules setting in the admin portal. Set the forward to your RiverX number. Many of these can forward on a schedule too.

Moving your number

  • It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. Your number keeps working the whole time, with no downtime.
  • You need a recent bill or account summary from your current carrier showing the account name, account number, and service address. For a cell number, you also need your carrier's transfer PIN, which you can get from the carrier's app or by calling them.
  • Keep your current service active until the move is finished. Canceling early can lose the number.
  • U.S. numbers only.

Test it

From a different phone, call your business number and let it ring. The agent should pick up in your business's name. If it doesn't, call us at (661) 387-3960.

Common questions
Will my customers know the call was forwarded?

Can I turn it off?
