Handle spam and fake reviews

Short answer

Turn on spam review detection in Reputation, then Settings, then Spam Reviews, and mark any review you think is fake as spam. The AI won't reply to reviews marked spam. To get a fake review taken down on Google, report it to Google.

    Open Spam Reviews

    Go to Reputation, then Settings, then Spam Reviews.

    Turn it on

    Turn it On and click Save.

    Mark a review as spam

    To mark a review yourself, open its menu and choose Mark as Spam. Undo Spam reverses it.

    See only flagged reviews

    To see only flagged reviews, use the spam filter in Reviews.

    Report to Google

    To ask Google to remove a fake review, flag it on your Google Business Profile and choose the reason that fits.

Good to know

  • Marking a review as spam in RiverX hides it from AI replies but doesn't remove it from Google.
  • Google only removes reviews that break its rules, like spam, fake accounts, someone who was never a customer, or hateful language.
  • A real customer's bad opinion isn't spam. Reply calmly instead. See /how-to/google-reviews-automatically.
