Short answer

Your calendar can send confirmations, reminders, and follow ups by text and email automatically. Open your calendar's Notifications tab, pick the message, choose who gets it and when, and edit the wording. Reminders cut no shows.

  1. 1

    Open your calendar

Go to Calendars, then Calendar Settings, and open your calendar.

  2. 2

    Open the Notifications tab

    Go to the Notifications tab.

  3. 3

    Pick a message type

Pick a message type: confirmation, reminder, cancellation, reschedule, or follow up.

  4. 4

Choose the channel and who gets it

Choose the channel, such as Email or SMS, and who gets it: the customer, your team, or both.

  5. 5

    Set the timing

For reminders, set how long before the appointment. Add more than one if you want.

  6. 6

    Edit the wording and test

Edit the wording, send yourself a test, and save.

Copy thisHi {first name}, reminder from {business name}: your appointment is tomorrow at {time}. Reply C to confirm or call {business phone} to reschedule.

Good to know

  • Texts are billed per segment. See /how-to/riverx/usage-costs.
  • Calendars made before an update keep their old wording. Click Reset to default for the newest templates.
  • Test with a real booking. Test messages can show blank reschedule links.
