Set up call recording and voicemail

   Open your phone number settings

   Go to Settings, then Phone System, then Phone Numbers.

   Edit the number

   Click the three dots next to your number and choose Edit Configuration.

   Turn on call recording

   Turn on Call Recording, and turn on the recording disclosure message.

   Set the ring time and voicemail backup

   Under the timeout and backup settings, set Incoming Call Timeout. About 20 seconds works for most businesses. Choose Voicemail as the backup.

   Upload your voicemail greeting

   Upload your business voicemail greeting as an mp3 or wav file under Settings, then Business Profile, then call and voicemail settings.

   Test it

   Save, then call your number from another phone to test it.

Good to know

• California and several other states require everyone on a call to agree to recording. Keep the disclosure on.
• If you leave the timeout blank, it rings for 60 seconds, and your cell phone's own voicemail usually picks up first. Around 20 seconds avoids that.
• No greeting uploaded? Callers hear a standard message asking them to leave a message after the beep.
